Taj Weekes Plays the Festival International de Louisiane

The threat of bad weather did not stop people from kicking off the weekend at Festival International de Louisiane on Friday in downtown Lafayette. Gray, blustery skies, with an appearance that vacillated between ominous and threatening, also did little to slow hundreds of people from converging on the Hub City to enjoy Day 2 of the five-day festival.

Donna the Buffalo launched the festivities Friday afternoon on the Scene TV5 stage and kicked off a long night of enjoying the international flavor of the festival and hoping inclement weather would hold off for the evening.

Taj Weeks & Adowa from St. Lucia began playing Caribbean and reggae music at Scene Bacardi on Jefferson Street. People began meeting up with family and friends, gathering around the stage, and enjoying festival food and drinks.
