Taj Weekes & Adowa return with their fifth album, promoting one love, healthy living, and pure organic music.
Internationally renowned reggae artist Taj Weekes and his band Adowa return to the studio focused on three simple words: Love, Herb, Reggae. The words and the title of the band’s fifth album, are purposefully crafted to create a movement through the ever-evolving theme of the “one love” philosophy that defines reggae music, promoting one love, healthy living, and pure, organic music. Love Herb & Reggae uses love as a doing word, a helping word, a “stand up for your rights” word. Herb, the long associated term for marijuana and reggae music, now equals healthy living – hemp, sage, thyme, basil – all forms of herb that represent sustainability and vitality. Then there’s Reggae – the genre that preaches a gospel of love and living in harmony. Love Herb & Reggae, symbolize both the album and the movement. Taj Weekes’ charity, They Often Cry Outreach (TOCO – www.theyoftencryoutreach.org ) is dedicated to improving the lives of Caribbean children through sports, health and enrichment programs.
