The Peg Egan Performing Arts Center announced its lineup of nationally acclaimed artists for its fourth annual Summer Sunset Concert Series at Eames Cherry View Park in Egg Harbor.
“I had one goal in mind when asked to provide programming for the Egan Center,” said Terry Lundahl, program director for the Egan PAC. “I wanted to provide Door County residents, visitors and music enthusiasts with a variety of outstanding music.”
The outdoor amphitheater at the park offers sweeping landscapes and sunsets over the harbor, with room for 2,000 concertgoers. All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and all take place Sundays, except for the July 2 concert. There are no seats, so concertgoers should bring blankets or lawn chairs. Admission is free.
The concert dates and performers are:
June 26 — BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet, one of the country’s top Cajun music bands and two-time Grammy Award winner.
July 2 — Saline Fiddlers, a premier youth fiddle show band.
July 10 — Taj Weekes & Adowa, reggae with a social conscience.
July 17 — Five by Design, swinging vocal quintet backed by an orchestra.
July 24 — 100 Percent Natural, a cappella blues and Gospel.
July 31 — Harry Manx, linking the blues of the West with classical Indian ragas.
Aug. 7 — Shout Sister Shout, bringing the smoky sophisticated sounds of 1930s and ’40s jazz.
Aug. 14 — The Best of the Big Top Chautauqua, with songs about the Great Lakes, the people and the land from the popular troupe’s musicals.
