With South by Southwest a few weeks behind us, it is natural for Austinites to assume that there will be fewer things to do in the coming months before the summer and fall festival seasons come around.

However, the month of April is filled with several exciting events that should keep things exciting and serve as nice diversions while homework piles up. Here are some of our selections for the must-attend events this month:

AUSTIN REGGAE FESTIVAL

April 15-17 | Auditorium Shores

More commonly known as Marley Fest, the Austin Reggae Festival is an annual gathering that brings the Rasta to Austin. This year’s installment will feature a dozen groups that will make that Bob Marley poster on your wall smile. Acts include headliners Tribal Seeds, Taj Weekes, Israel Vibration and The Roots Radics Band. With day tickets ranging from $12.50 to $15, including a portion of which will benefit  Capital Area Food Bank, you can do a lot worse than lie down on a blanket with a few friends and listen to reggae music all day.

THREE OTHERS:

AUSTIN JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL

AUSTIN PSYCH FEST
