The Ultimate Guide to What’s Going On in the Twin Cities
Review by: Chris Riemenschneider
Hardly the first reggae act to address social injustice, Taj Weekes & Adowa do it with more an eye for current affairs and a thoughtful, problem-solving approach, which is just one of several reasons their new album “Diedem” (“All of Us”) is a real attention-getter and was shortlisted for the Grammy’s reggae category. Born in St. Lucia and now based in New York, Weekes has a soulful and surprisingly effeminate voice that’s also quite a head-turner, and his band is traditional but fiery.
